WE ARE
Hello,
Corey Shauna
we are
We hold space for others to radically grow and encounter Jesus.
He loves us in our brokenness.
A transformative lived experience brought us a depth to our understanding that only God could gift. Since the age of 15, we have walked this life together, trying to find the Way. Looking for the Lord in all of the wrong places and desperately seeking to find purpose, calling, and belonging. Maybe you can relate? The Lord has used our faith walk to call us back home and redeemed our broken hearts and stories through humility, long-suffering, and patience with each other, ourselves, and our growing relationship with God.
We will be all of ourselves in Christ here, let that be enough for you.
"LET US THEN WITH CONFIDENCE DRAW NEAR TO THE THRONE OF GRACE, THAT WE MAY RECEIVE MERCY AND FIND GRACE
TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED."
-HEBREWS 4:16
Together,
we've spent the better part of our lives on a deeply spiritual journey of inner-personal conflict, learning to accept love and unwinding from a codependent relationship that began when we were fifteen years old. When we first met, many unsolicited voices spoke negativity and darkness over our relationship, as they reminded us that "we were not a good fit.”
This unwarranted relational advice poured gasoline on the ember that was our relationship as we fought like hell to prove people wrong and uncover the light within us both that we witnessed within each other at a young age. After many years of challenging and fighting each other, until we were blue in the face, our growing stubbornness and well-intended tenacity kept us fighting and brought us humbly into a relationship with Christ that changed and morphed our relationship in every way.
Faith had always been a pain point in our relationship, as we both came from very different walks, and our experiences, lack of communication, and immature minds kept us locked in chains of disbelief, doubt, and loneliness. It was a battle for so long, made worse by the lack of inviting each other into the sacredness that comes from knowing Jesus intimately. He revealed this to us as we took a leap of faith to seek “better” right before the pandemic hit. Our life on the road, in a 60 square foot box revealed unhealed trauma that had been neglected since our adolescent years, pain that we had caused each other that we were both very much still hanging on to.
It took great faith in who Jesus was to mend the brokenness and wounds that cut into the deepest parts of our being. We are blessed to be standing here, hand-in-hand and unafraid to share of the transformative power that knowing our Father in heaven has provided us, relationally.
When we are in an intimate relationship with God, we learn to let this version of us exist vulnerably with our loved ones. He continues to illuminate our need for him, draw us closer, and show us the Way.
We pray for this same transformative experience over every relationship in your life.
“DO NOT NEGLECT TO SHOW HOSPITALITY TO STRANGERS, FOR BY THIS, SOME HAVE ENTERTAINED ANGELS UNAWARE.”
